Krishak Bandhu Scheme Relaunched
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme in 2018 to provide financial assistance to farmers. This scheme has been started by the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamta Banerjee for the farmers after coming to power once again. This time the farmers will get double benefit from this scheme. Earlier under this scheme, farmers were given 5 thousand rupees per acre, but now financial assistance of double 10 thousand rupees will be given. More than 75 lakh farmers of the state will get the benefit of this scheme.
Doubling Of Financial Assistance To Small And Marginal Farmers
Through the WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme, the incentive amount given to small and marginal farmers will be doubled. Under this scheme, farmers who have less than 1 acre of cultivable land will get Rs 4000 per annum instead of Rs 2,000 on a pro-rata basis. Apart from this, if a farmer dies within the age limit of 60 years, then his family members will be provided a death benefit of Rs 200000. Krishak Bandhu Scheme started in 2018 and till February 2021, 1500 crores has been spent for the implementation of this scheme.

Objective Of WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme
The main objective of implementing the WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the farmers. Under this scheme, farmers are given an assistance of Rs 5000 per acre. This amount is given twice a year in two installments. Under the scheme, along with financial assistance, an insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh will also be given to the beneficiaries. With the help of financial assistance and insurance cover given under the WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme, farmers will become self-dependent, and this will also increase the income of farmers.
I am happy to announce that GoWB is relaunching the #KrishakBandhu Scheme by doubling the annual financial support for all farmers & share-croppers.
Farmers will now receive an increased financial support from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 for one acre or more of cultivable land. (1/2)
